1. Discuss each of the major options for appraisal of employees fully (critical incidents method, MBO, narrative, graphic rating scale form, BARS, and ranking method). Finally, identify the one that you think is “best,” and why you chose that option. Pick one and defend it; do not say it depends or that they all have their benefits and drawbacks.

2. Discuss the concept of comparable worth (NOT pay equity). Do you believe that it should be mandated by law? Why or why not? Give at least two specific, real-world examples supporting your side of the debate.

3. Discuss the common group incentive options (profit-sharing, gainsharing, ESOP, and stock options/stock purchasing plans), giving SPECIFIC examples of each and an example of each being used currently in the business world. 4. Discuss the primary causes of workplace violence. What SPECIFIC steps can managers take to help prevent workplace violence? Discuss two examples of past workplace violence in the U.S. that were not covered in our textbook, including the companies involved and the years of the events.
